From SAQA:

"Argentinean-American artist Tamara Kostianovsky will discuss 15 years of work and reflect on the inspirations, techniques, and concepts that make up her elaborate textile sculptures.

Starting with the political intentions of her early works that responded to the dictatorship she lived through while growing up in Argentina, to the most recent examples of sculptures involved with ecology and climate change. Kostianovsky will open a window into her view of fabric as substitute for skin, establishing parallels between human and animal anatomy, and botany to reveal a commonality among all living things."

This Textile Talk takes place, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. Future installments are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.

The video will be recorded and will be able to view later.
