SAQA’s 2022 Benefit Auction
From SAQA:
It’s here! SAQA’s 2022 Benefit Auction opens Friday, September 9.
The 2022 SAQA Benefit Auction opens this Friday at 2 pm EDT (US/Canada). Be ready to bid in this exciting fundraiser by visiting saqa.com/auction for details and to see the 423 art quilts in this year’s lineup.
All of the pieces were made and donated by SAQA members from around the world. Each piece measures 12 x 12 inches, and there is truly something for everyone. A dreamy dance floor by Alice Beasley, a beautiful bird by Martha Wolfe, and a colorful abstract by Katie Pasquini Masopust are just three examples of the inviting offerings.
The auction will kick off at 2 pm EDT (US/Canada) on Friday, September 9, with Diamond Day bidding. This is an early-bird opportunity to purchase ANY quilt for $1,000. The rest of the auction is divided into three sections, with a new section opening each Monday. Bid prices start at $750 per quilt and drop each day at 2 pm EDT (US/Canada) until they reach $100 on Saturday. Because it is a reverse-price auction, the first bidder wins! What if you miss Diamond Day bidding, but still want a quilt in a later section? It’s yours with a buy-it-now price of $1,000.
The Benefit Auction, now in its 16th year, helps support SAQA’s exhibition programs, publications, and education outreach. For bidders, the auction is also a chance to own a treasure created by one of their favorite artists or to discover the work of someone new to them, often at a bargain.
Bidders bid for and purchase their winning quilts on the Handbid platform. You must pre-register and set up a Handbid account to bid. The link to that site, plus info on how the Benefit Auction works, is at saqa.com/auction.
