Quilters' Save Our Stories with Barbara Ann Bauer Barrett

The Quilt Alliance's interview from the Quilters' Save Our Stories (QSOS) program this week is all about Barbara Ann Bauer Barrett. Barbara, in conversation with interviewer Shelly Pagliali, talks about the quilt that she brought along, Sing a New Song, how she is "an active member of many groups and guilds", and about being a "member of the International Quilt Association (IQA)".

What are Quilters' Save Our Stories interviews you ask? "Quilters’ S.O.S. – Save Our Stories (QSOS) is a project of the non-profit Quilt Alliance. The project creates, through recorded interviews, a broadly accessible body of information concerning quiltmaking, both present-day and in living memory. Our archive for the original audio recordings and photographs is the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. QSOS volunteers from across the country conduct and transcribe these interviews. We appreciate their generosity of time and dedication to the project!"

From Quilters' Save Our Stories and the Quilt Alliance:

"Barbara Barrett is a quilter in Bastrop, Texas who began quilting in the mid 1990s. She's known how to sew since a young age, and moved to quilting when she took a class. She is an active member of many groups and guilds including the Austin Area Quilt Guild, the Night Bloomers Quilt Bee, the Blockettes Quilt Bee, Loose Threads Quilt Bee and the In Stitches Bee. She also is a member of the International Quilt Association (IQA)."
