The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Sun Salutations" by Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill
Do a puzzle of Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill's quilt, Sun Salutations.
Sheri had a lot of fun playing with color when making her Sun Salutations quilt to emulate a beautiful sunrise. The entire quilt is made with half-square triangles, arranged with care for the color and value to have their maximum effect in bringing the design to life. The quilting was all done by Sheri herself utilizing the walking foot.
Artist Statement: "Inspiration for Sun Salutations came from my first trip to Hawaii. I visited Hilo, located on the east coast of the Big Island. My room faced east and had a balcony that overlooked the ocean. It was impossible to sleep through the spectacular sunrises."
