The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Ripening" by Ellen Lindner
Do a puzzle of Ellen Lindner's quilt, Ripening.
Ripening is inspired by a photograph that Ellen took of some local Florida foilage. The foilage in question, is a specific palm tree in Florida that around December grows both red and green berries. As a result the tree is known as a "Christmas Palm". Ellen says, "It's December in Floria, and the berries of a Christmas Palm are responding to the warmth of the sun. The branches mature at different rates, showing the colors that prompted the name."
