The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Queen Bee" by Cheryl Lynch
Do a puzzle of Cheryl Lynch's quilt, Queen Bee.
When she was in Israel, Cheryl was inspired by both ancient and contemporary mosaics. So she developed a technique to replicate stone mosaics in fabric. She found it a challenge that was both intriguing and definitely doable. Queen Bee is one of those mosaic quilts, and its inspiration comes from a very playful play on words. Since so many people are in quilting bees, Cheryl felt it appropriate to have an actual bee BE the centerpiece of one of her quilts and couldn't help but to add the crown atop her regal subject.
