The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Playing with Blocks" by Marci Baker

Do a puzzle of Marci Baker's quilt, Playing with Blocks.

Playing with Blocks features, you guessed it, the tumbling block as its central design concept. To create the 3-Dimensional effect of the blocks falling down the quilt, Marci chose appropriate light, medium, and dark fabrics so that each block would stand out. What is maybe more impressive than the illusionary element of Marci's quilt, is the fact that she created the quilt top in six hours by strip piecing it.

That was the weirdest puzzle I've ever seen. For some reason it came out as pieces without tabs...it took me 20 minutes to get about 3/4 of it done...but then I tried every single piece left to put into certain places and nothing worked for...

That was the weirdest puzzle I've ever seen. For some reason it came out as pieces without tabs...it took me 20 minutes to get about 3/4 of it done...but then I tried every single piece left to put into certain places and nothing worked for me...I finally got frustrated and gave up and went back to read the rules and see if there was something I missed about putting it together. I found nothing, and called it up again and that time the tabs were on it and I was able to easily finish the puzzle. I always love the puzzle section! What did a do incorrectly the first time?

Not a fan of the straight sided pieces and incomplete borders. I do like the quilt design, just not the way the puzzle went together.
