The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Nourished" by Deborah Boschert
Do a puzzle of Deborah Boschert's quilt, Nourished.
Nourished and its complimentary quilt Depleted were both made in the same style of composition, but created with each meant to suggest entirely different feelings. The Nourished quilt featured here contains growing colors and elements and is meant to convey a sense of well-being, while the Depleted version was designed to be more gritty and rough around the edges.
Deborah writes about her work, "Most of my art quilts are created by collaging fabric and stitching into layers of design. I incorporate all kinds of fabrics into my work from worn-out jeans to vintage linens to original fabrics created with paint, pens, stencils and stamps. Incorporating improvisational hand embroidery adds more interest and creates tiny details that enhance the piece as a whole."
