The Quilt Show Puzzle: "French Market" by Sally Frey
Do a puzzle of Sally Frey's quilt, French Market.
Sally Frey loves to redesign modern quilts based on antique quilt patterns and designs. Her quilts become a blending of old and new that you'll love to see. For French Market, she was reinterpreting a turn-of-the-century quilt that featured a railroad crossing block. While she was busy sewing away making this style of block, Sally was trying to figure out what she was going to use to put a sashing in without really having the sashing look. When she placed the blocks up on the wall, unbeknownst to her, they created a secondary block design that she was happy with without using a sashing.
