The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Family Garden" by Lesley Riley
Do a puzzle of Lesley Riley's quilt, Family Garden.
Lesley made Family Garden for a friend of hers who was making a book. The book was on collections and Lesley had a collection of little gem tintypes, which are photographs "made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal, colloquially called 'tin'." So in each flower of the quilt, the flowers themselves are made of heated Lutradur, which is a spun-bond polyester stabilizer, Lesley placed a tintype and created an imaginary family out of the photographs.
