The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Deep Sea Portals" by Sheila Frampton Cooper
Do a puzzle of Sheila Frampton Cooper's quilt, Deep Sea Portals.
Deep Sea Portals was made at a time when Sheila was using yellows as a starting point for her quilts, which is what she did for this piece. From there, the colors bloom out of the yellows, which are acting as the focal points for the quilt, and the rest of the work just grows and moves from one thing to another. Often Sheila is inspired by the ocean and water, with this piece reminding her of portals, hence the title.
