The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Boats at Dawn" by Bonnie Langenfeld
Do a puzzle of Bonnie Langenfeld's quilt, Boats at Dawn.
Using a variegated fabric that reminded her of the sun hitting the edge of the water, and a photograph that someone gave her that she adapted to fit her needs, Bonnie created her Boats at Dawn quilt. The boats themselves are not pieced, they are either fused or glued, and a lot of individual cutwork was done of each side, back, and seat of the boats to get the shadows in the right places.
