The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Beaded Lanterns" by Christa Watson
Do a puzzle of Christa Watson's quilt, Beaded Lanterns.
Unlike many of the quilts that Christa had made before that feature fun and bright print fabrics, Beaded Lanterns is made with solids. Christa says that if you really want the quilting you do to show and provide a contrast that pops, then you should quilt on solid fabrics like she did with Beaded Lanterns. Specifically for this piece, she quilted using free-motion quilting, walking foot quilting, and other designs utilizing a custom quilting plan in different areas of the quilt to really give it that wow factor.
