Tere D'Amato of Bayberry Quilters of Cape Cod's quilt, Life is a Highway, won the Summer Celebration Viewer's Choice Award as part of the Summer Celebration of New England Quilts 2023. What's special about Tere's quilt other than it being just so lovely? Well, it uses The Quilt Show's 2021 Block Of the Month pattern, Color My World by Wendy Williams, as its basis! In our brand new show, Cindy Lohbeck shares her technique for creating an ice dyed mandala fabric by blending a folded fan Shibori design and Tie Dye. Watch closely and see how the addition of the ice causes the dye to fracture resulting in unusual and beautiful colorations in the fan design.

"Leadership Compass" by Elise Roberts

When finishing her doctorate in educational leadership, Elise designed a small version of her quilt Leadership Compass to commemorate the leadership experience. After making the small one, Elise was asked to create a larger version that would be donated to the University of St. Thomas. The big version of the quilt is a visual representation of the forces that hold leaders together and pull us apart.
