This is Aki Sakai's second Christmas themed quilt and it took home the AccuQuilt Best Wall Quilt Award for its stunning hand work at Paducah and the The Grace Company Master Award For Traditional Artistry at the Houston International Quilt Festival last year.

Ricky's Class Is Over, But The Showcase Is Coming!
|
|
|

Even Though Class Is Done, There's Still Time to Have Some Fun!
Ricky has finished teaching
his Portal quilt class, but that doesn't mean the fun is done. On Monday June 5, 2023, he will be hosting a LIVE showcase of Portal quilts made by our members. To be a part of the Showcase, please post a picture of your quilt in the FORUM under the topic, RICKY’s PORTAL — Final Quilts, by Sunday, June 4, 2023. (It doesn't have to be quilted...a top is just
fine.)
Haven't started yours yet? No need to fear, you can watch the classes anytime in the classroom and there are still some kits left with all of the fabric you need to complete the quilt.

"Room For One More" by Patricia Belyea
Room For One More was
made using Tina Hilton's Turtle Hand Batik fabric. When Patricia was at Houston in 2017, she came across Tina's fabric and she told her, "Boy if I had your fabric I would sure make a different quilt." In response, Tina gave Patricia some of the fabric, which she now felt obligated to make something with, so she created Room For One More. The theme of the quilt is that there is a family of three and there is a little one arriving. It is the story of Patricia being pregnant with her child Victoria, and wondering how a new child was going to change up her life. It changed Patricia's life for the better as she now works with Victoria and couldn't live without her.
See more of Patricia's quilts in Working with Yukata Fabric and Designer Facings with Patricia Belyea | Quilt Care and Storage with Lisa Erlandson.
