Featured Quilt - From Notes to Needles and Back
Everyone's interests evolve over time, but that doesn't mean we lose interest in what we loved before. Take Sharon Casey and her quilt Studio Time, which was featured in the Improvisation category at QuiltCon 2023. It combines her first love, music, and the love she found for quilting. She says, "I have been a musician all my life, but 22 years ago I turned to the visual art of quilting. Music is still a part of me, but instead of sitting at a keyboard, I am stitching away in front of a sewing machine! This quilt was made improvisationally after I studied with Irene Roderick and began "dancing with the wall."

"Flowers And Friendship" by Priscilla Knoble
Flowers And
Friendship is a tribute to Priscilla's friends, passions, and what she loves to do. As part of a group of seven women who, when they meet up, discuss their hopes and dreams together, Priscilla felt that a good way to remember their moments together was by creating a quilt. In the quilt, each block represented one of her friends and the hopes and dreams that they had through flowers and their particular meanings. Each flower means something special to each friend, and the border has the name of each flower and its meaning.
