Featured Quilt - First Place Hand Quilted at 2024 Quilt Arizona! Hip To Be Square

This week we will be featuring 3 different versions of the 2022 BOM Garden Party Down Under that we discovered at the 2024 Quilt Arizona! Hip To Be Square quilt show in Mesa, Arizona. Each exhibitor put their own personal spin on this fabulous quilt designed by Irene Blanck.

First up, take a look at this beauty by Nancy Whitton of the Delightful Quilters. Nancy said the hardest part was waiting for the new blocks and flowers each month. Her quilt, Garden Party Down Under, features both hand appliqué and hand quilting! Nancy's quilt won 1st Place in the Hand Quilted Category of the show. Take a look and enjoy the beauty of Nancy's handwork.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Serene Swan

"The Mute Swan" by Sandra Mollon

Sandra writes of The Mute Swan and her other photo-inspired quilts, "Animals make wonderful subjects in raw edge fused art quilts. I bring them to life with eyes that are inked and colored with color pencils on fabric." This quilt is derived from a Ken Miracle photo.
