Featured Quilt - Second Place Small Wall Quilts: Pictorial at Paducah 2024
Raising A Strong Girl by Lynn Czaban won Second Place - Small Wall Quilts: Pictorial (Sponsored by PFAFF) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024. While entered and winning in the Pictorial Quilt category, you could also consider this piece as a portrait quilt as well. Depicting a strong and independent young woman, the quilt sends a powerful message as its subject is surrounded by messages of encouragement to set an example of the ideals she can strive towards as she grows older.

"Queen Bee" by Cheryl Lynch
When she was in Israel, Cheryl was inspired by both ancient and contemporary mosaics. So she developed a technique to replicate stone mosaics in fabric. She found it a challenge that was both intriguing and definitely doable. Queen Bee is one of those mosaic quilts, and its inspiration comes from a very playful play on words. Since so many people are in quilting bees, Cheryl felt it appropriate to have an actual bee BE the centerpiece of one of her quilts and couldn't help but to add the crown atop her regal subject.
