Featured Quilt - First Place Contemporary Quilts at 2023 Festival of Quilts Birmingham
Help Ma Boab by Linzi Upton won 1st Place - Contemporary Quilts (Sponsored by Janome Sewing Machines) at the 2023 Festival of Quilts Birmingham. On her inspiration for the quilt, Linzi had this to say: "I was inspired by a tattered fragment of clothing from India. The brightly coloured, heavily decorated textile piece was originally trimmed with mirrors, most of which were missing. I have reimagined
it as a quilt."

"Patriotic Strippy Stars" by Jo Morton
In 2005 Jo Morton talked Andover Fabrics into creating a fabric that featured a large repeating star shape. After making the fabric in several different colors, Andover wanted Jo to start making quilts utilizing the fabric. For her Patriotic Strippy Stars quilt, she featured the fabric in the borders, which surround several sawtooth star blocks that are set on point in a strippy set, which is reminiscent of a 19th-century quilt but may be seen as a bit more contemporary when viewed today.
