Featured Quilt - Caught Up In The Quilting Current

To depict the flow of water in a quilt is a very difficult task. We feel that Phyllis Cullen stepped up to the challenge with her quilt, Maelstrom, which was featured in the Wall Category at PIQF 2017. With ebbing tides and crushing waves rendered beautifully with machine appliqué, longarm quilting, fabric collage, and threadwork, Phyllis transports you down a river just the way the current would take a fish downstream. Or, as she would like to describe it so succinctly, "Feeding frenzy. Koi create/are caught in churning waters."

Still Time to Start the BOM 2021

This one minute video tells some of the story and shows some of the quilts in progress. "Color My World" by Wendy Williams is a quilt you will be proud of. It's different, it's fun, it can be personalized, and all the patterns are free to Star Members.

How Does David Sirota Floss His Quilts?

You Can Do So Much More With Floss Than Just Cleaning Your Teeth

"Dave, Thank you, Thank you!, for the dental floss idea to secure points, works so great! I am piecing a small sample Storm At Sea using traditional paper piecing and do look forward to trying the vellum to eliminate all the paper tearing struggles. Am thrilled with success of first large paper piecing project." - Elicia Buckland-Toole

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Follow The Light

"Forest Light" by Sheila Christensen

Sheila decided this quilt, Forest Light, needed more "pop" so she created scrap bags of fabric with additional colors to choose from and added them to the quilt to give it that "light".
