Featured Quilt - The Innova Mastery Award for Contemporary Artistry at Houston 2024
The Arrival by Kestrel Michaud won The Innova Mastery Award for Contemporary Artistry (Sponsored by Innova) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. Like many of Kestrel's quilts, this one has a fantastic concept behind it that tells a wonderful story that will enhance your enjoyment of the quilt once you know it.
She says, “A lush tropical paradise. The scene depicts a monumental event. An airship from the human realm has just arrived. It carries an emissary, who hopes to establish friendly diplomatic relations with the resident elves in the interest of learning about their connection to—and mastery of—magic! This unprecedented meeting will certainly have a resonating effect on both cultures.”
