Featured Quilt - First Place Windham Ruby+Bee Fabric Challenge at QuiltCon 2025

Reverb by Michaela Romesburg won First Place in the Windham Ruby+Bee Fabric Challenge at QuiltCon 2025. This challenge was defined by the parameters that, "Quilts must use at least 3 of the 6 challenge fabrics chosen by featured artist Tara Faughnan. The challenge is open to individuals or groups." Michaela says, "This quilt was designed with harmony, balance and depth in mind. The main techniques used were a modern twist on the classic log cabin along with FPP. My hope was to create movement through the utilization of color and pattern. The combination of warm and cool colors create the illusion of reverberation (ring or echo with sound)."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A "Cubist Coffee" Break

"A Cup of Cubist Coffee and a Chocolate-Chip Cookie" by Ann Feitelson

Ann says of A Cup of Cubist Coffee and a Chocolate-Chip Cookie, "I adopted aspects of cubism in the playful variety of shapes atop the cups. Some are circular, as if the cup is seen from above; some are elliptical; some are seen dead-on. The half-ellipses and half-circles represent coffee, or the interior of the cup, or a reflection or a shadow. The polka-dotted circles represent cookies. Color is of utmost importance to me. The cups, cookies, coffee and backgrounds make stair-steps of flowing color."
