"It's a Mad, Mad, Mid-Mod World" a quilt by Julie Limbach Jones and the South Bay Quilter’s Guild

It's a Mad, Mad, Mid-Mod World by Julie Limbach Jones and others won the #QuiltConTogether2021 People’s Choice award.

 

It's a Mad, Mad, Mid-Mod World was entered in the Group & Bee Quilts category by Individual MQG Member @jlimbachjones. Members of the South Bay Quilters Guild made blocks with design, assembly and binding by Melanie Dreike, Marie Cortez, Nadine Kirk, Sue Glass, and Julie Limbach Jones. The quilt was quilted by Matt Randall. Block patterns were made by Violet Craft, Colourwerks, and Carolyn Friedlander.

I absolutely adore this quilt! I first saw it on Instagram. So glad to see it "more up close and personnel" here. I wonder if they'll offer it as a BOM or stand alone pattern. It sure took me back to my childhood.

I can never figure out how when many hands are involved in the birth of a quilt that it can be cohesively pulled into a single creation by such a well thought out limited number of quilting patterns/textural components. Not surprising to read...

Wow! This quilt screams 1960s! A lovely evocation of the decade. Love how the quilting design frames everything perfectly.
