What Did You Find When You Cleaned Your House? - A 130-Year-Old Quilt

Well, in Yorkshire a 130-year-old embroidered quilt was found by chance during their "spring clean" at their local church. Read on to find out more about this great discovery. (Photo Credit: yorkshirepost.co.uk/)

 

From the Yorkshire Post:

 

"The patchwork quilt was discovered in a sacristy cupboard at St Bartholomew’s Church at Marsden, near Huddersfield, during a clean-up for the church’s reopening as Covid restrictions eased.

 

Church warden Val France said: “We were having a clearout and I thought what on earth’s this? There was a bit of plastic sheeting, I pulled it out and unravelled it all and just couldn’t believe it."

Incredibly beautiful and in exquisite condition! I favor the red and white with light blue background. Looks as though it was uniquely embroidered by each contributor.
