The Dior Autumn-Winter 2021-2022 Haute Couture Show

Take your front-row seat to watch the unveiling of the Dior Autumn-Winter 2021-2022 Haute Couture collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri live from Paris. While the clothes are always interesting and beautifully made, we were fascinated by the backdrop of the show. Was it quilted? Was it embroidered?After taking a closer look, we believe it was entirely embroidered...but we could be wrong. Take a look.

Though the fabric combinations are interesting, there’s such an avoidance of colors. The longer dresses ave a nice fluidity. But the shoes are gross.

Although the clothes are exquisite and the background fabulous, I felt no joy viewing this show. Why do the models seem to be disgruntled employees?! The music was truly depressing.

That beautiful backdrop was totally wasted with the fashion. It looked like a stalag fashion show.

The backdrop and how it was made is explained in the interview and video at https://www.dior.com/en_us/womens-fashion/haute-couture-shows/the-scenography. It primarily uses silk embroidery and was done by hand with many artisans.

Does anyone actually WEAR these clothes?? I'm surprised at how unflattering most of them are...like the women are wearing big tweedy bags. Oh, and the see-thru dresses! What a peculiar collection.

I loved the background of the Dior show. The embroidery work was just beautiful. I enjoyed Dilly Uptons comments and would like to know who did the actual embroidery work and how much they were paid.
