Just watched Sue Sherman and her techniques for her animal quilts with an eye to saving the animals and the plants. Great show!!

Potato Chip Quilts is a technique that has been around for a long time. In the book, “Successful Scrap Quilts” by Judy Turner and Margaret Wolfe (Martingale Publication), these quilters had several layouts and designs for using these “bricks” or “chips”. This book was released in October of 2012.

I was fortunate enough to have Sue Sherman at one of my guild meetings. Fabulous is not good enough. So magical. As a member of the Mount Scrapmore group, Brenda has given us so many amazing blocks. In Canada, United States and Australia we have had potato chip block swaps. So much fun to open an envelope with chips. When I am working on a quilt I just cut a few 2.5 by 4.5 inch blocks and add to the stash. One of our members of our scrap group made monochromatic blocks out of every color and put them together. Great result.
