How to Appliqué with Suzanne Marshall | How to Make a 9-Patch Block with Alex Anderson
(Show 203) Ricky introduces Suzanne Marshall, his quilting mentor and International Award Winning Quilter. She shares her applique design inspiration - tapestries, embroideries, and woodblock prints. Suzanne demos several of her tricks and techniques that keeps her sought after as one of the best appliqué teachers today. Ricky also visits Suzanne at her home for a "Bed Turning" and we see 46 of her applique quilts! Alex opens the show talking about the classic 9-patch block and the importance of pinning and what type of pins to use.
Cheryl Uribe, Gizmo Girl, introduces tools for applique and products for cleaning and conditioning your tools. Cheryl also shares a special folder made for quilters, great to keep cutting instructions, quilting designs, pictures and more about the quilt in process - or finished! Alex and Ricky also review how to work on a design wall and get the work to your sewing machine. Great information for Beginner quilters.
