The National Quilt Museum's New Quilts From An Old Favorite exhibit has returned, this time with a focus on food. A challenge was sent out to quilters to create a quilt under the following conditions: "The quilt must be about food in some recognizable way and include an interpretation of a block pattern of the artist’s choosing." As usual, a wide variety of spectacular original designs have been chosen that whole heartedly, or should we say whole stomached-ly, embraced the theme of food, and are now on display at the museum.

Hayley Grzych at WeAllSew has a great tutorial on how to create an Easy Quilt Facing. This technique creates an elegant, seamless-looking finish on the front side of the quilt that’s very popular for art quilts or wall hangings and you don't have to worry about single fold, double fold, bias or straight of grain...and not a mitered corner in site.

April is here, and with it the next set of steps for making Game On!, The Quilt Show's 2026 Block Of the Month designed by Becky Goldsmith. After successfully assembling the center medallion last month, we now move on to it's surrounding border, and Barbara Black is here to show you the best way to tackle it. Melissa Mortenson of the Polka Dot Chair Blog came up with the idea of making small Easter baskets out of fabric so she could take them with her when she traveled on Spring Break. These small fabric baskets would be great for “little hands” on Easter morning this Sunday. Since they are made of fabric they are also very “packable”. You can send them to friends or family far across the country!
