Featured Quilt - First Place Minimalist Design at QuiltCon 2026
White on White: Log Cabins by Robert J Bosscher won First Place - Minimalist Design (Sponsored by Lo & Behold Stitchery) at QuiltCon 2026. Robert says, "This quilt continues a series of quilts exploring the unexpected - a quilt that seems to glow - through the use of fluorescent piecing thread. Using small piecing, the colors in the seams become more evident and more pronounced, creating a much more evident glow, while still offering the viewer questions of construction and process. Additionally, my hope is that viewers are drawn into the glow and feel the playful joy in the unexpected." |

Inspiration and Scaling a Design with Carol Ann McCandless |

Tipping The "Scale" In Your Direction
Our latest show starts off with Carol Ann McCandless sharing her original hand-drawn design for the My Legacy (79" x 128") quilt, built on structural lines that became the framework for circles, feathers, clamshells, and other fillers. Longarming experience helped her create balance and repetition throughout the piece. She also discusses key challenges, such as determining the largest quilt her longarm could support, selecting the right marking tools, heavier weight thread for cotton sateen, and more.

After successfully assembling the center medallion last month, we now move on to its surrounding border, and Barbara Black is here to show you the best way to tackle it. She says, "This month we move on to the narrow borders. Becky has used a classic triangle block in a unusual way."
