The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Cloud Rim: Summer 1991" by Shannon Conley
Do a puzzle of Shannon Conley's quilt, Cloud Rim: Summer 1991.
Cloud Rim: Summer 1991 is one of Shannon's smocked quilts and is part of a series she made that features repeating organic forms like you would find in a traditional quilt block with curves and shapes. Colorwise the quilt is inspired by the mountains of Utah where she went to summer camp one year.
Artist Statement: "This piece is part of a series capturing places dear to my heart. I spent my childhood in the dry mountains of southern New Mexico, a place where the tiniest of creeks was cause for delight. So I remember well the urgency and excitement I felt when I got the chance to go to summer camp with a friend in Utah; a place with not only mountains and trees, but the new and wondrous experience of a lake."
