Featured Quilt - Best Movable Machine Workmanship at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2025 and Best Original Design at AQS QuiltWeek Branson 2025
On Wednesday we featured Janet Stone's quilt Filigree Calligraphy, which won Best Original Design at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2025 and Best Stationary Machine Workmanship at AQS QuiltWeek Branson 2025.
Well, today we are featuring Margaret Solomon Gunn's quilt, Supraspinatus' Swan Song, which basically won the inverse of Janet's quilt at the same shows, taking home Best Movable Machine Workmanship at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2025 and Best Original Design at AQS QuiltWeek Branson 2025.
If you are unsure what the title of Margaret's quilt means, it actually refers to a tendon that she tore, and this quilt is about her recovery from that injury. She says, "The Supraspinatus is the tendon I tore. The name is an ode to how this stupid tendon nearly made me quit quilting." To read the full story click on the About The Quilt tab when viewing the quilt in the gallery.

"Where Everything Springs From" by Edyta Sitar
Edyta loves putting batiks and printed fabrics together in a single quilt. Hailing from her book Hop to It! Appliqued Blocks and Projects, Where Everything Springs From perfectly expresses this style that Edyta loves. It takes these fabrics, groups them together, and allows each one to play off of the other in a cohesive way despite the different personalities of the fabrics.
Learn from Edyta and the other Scrap Masters by watching them in Working with Scraps | Scraps Masterclass. |
