Featured Quilt - Marie White Masterpiece Award at Road to California 2025
Automne, the multiple award-winning quilt by Colette Dumont, took home a big award at Road to California 2025 this past weekend. Not a quilt to rest on its laurels, having already won Best Wall Quilt Award at 2024 AQS QuiltWeek - Branson, Second Place - Wall Quilts – Stationary Machine Quilted at 2024 AQS QuiltWeek in Daytona Beach, Colette's quilt received the Marie White Masterpiece Award (Sponsored Moore's Sewing Center) at Road to California 2025.
While being named for the Autumn season, you could say that Automne is a quilt for all seasons. Featuring thousands of beautiful beads and stunning cut outs, Colette says of her work, "Nature in autumn is full of colors so that inspired me for this quilt, winter follows next and the beaded border represents it with the colors of Christmas, white, red and green."

Find Out How Wen Got To Where She Is Today
Known for her experimental approach to fiber art, Wen Redmond is a former home economics teacher who encouraged her students to think beyond traditional sewing by introducing soft sculptural forms. Wen later used her newly acquired computer skills to merge photography with fiber. Although her background is in traditional quilting, Wen swiftly transitioned to art quilting, with nature playing a profound and consistent influence on her. Take a look at her quilts and see how Wen views art as a dialogue of collage through photography and encourages each of us to listen to our inner voice.

"Playing with Blocks" by Marci Baker
Playing with Blocks features, you guessed it, the tumbling block as its central design concept. To create the 3-Dimensional effect of the blocks falling down the quilt, Marci chose appropriate light, medium, and dark fabrics so that each block would stand out. What is maybe more impressive than the illusionary element of Marci's quilt, is the fact that she created the quilt top in six hours by strip piecing it.
