Artist Statement (Houston 2025): "Nature in autumn is full of colors, which inspired this quilt. It is the harvest time for me as a home gardener, celebrating the abundance of fruits and vegetables. Winter follows next, and the beaded border represents it with the colors of Christmas—white, red, and green."

Automne is another of Colette's stunning, intricately planned, and masterfully put together quilts featuring beading and cut outs. She is known for and loves using thousands of seed beads and crystals in her quilts, and this one is certainly no exception. In addition to recently winning the Best Wall Quilt Award at 2024 AQS QuiltWeek - Branson, Automne also won Second Place in the Wall Quilts – Stationary Machine Quilted category at this year's AQS QuiltWeek in Daytona Beach.
