Featured Quilt - First Prize Traditional Quilts at Festival of Quilts 2025

Parterre by Sonia Higgs took First Prize in the Traditional Quilts category (Sponsored by Vlieseline Freudenberg UK) at the 2025 Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, UK. Designed by Shelly Kelly, Sonia hand quilted her work and used colored fabrics that were "all hand needle turned onto the white background" to create the look of her quilt.

Sonia's quilt also received a Judge's Choice Award, with the judge saying, "I like your alternative colour choice for stained glass effect. Calm and harmonious colour choices."

Marge Tucker Demos Modern Walking Foot Quilting, with No Marking Required

Get Your Feet Ready to Do Something Walking

Marge Tucker begins her next segment on our latest show by explaining the features of the walking foot and the attachable seam guide, highlighting how machine quilters can use them as valuable resources — minimizing the need for marking. She then shares how to build a variety of designs, including soft curves, waves, and a spiral.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A BERNINA Skill Builder

"BERNINA BOM" by Nina McVeigh

BERNINA Educator Nina McVeigh created their Block of the Month 2018 quilt to help improve piecing and quilting techniques. The BERNINA BOM was created with Alison Glass fabric. We love the use of color against the gray background.
