Featured Quilt - Second Place Small Quilts at QuiltCon 2025

Finding Balance by Ann Marston won Second Place - Small Quilts (Sponsored by Paper Pieces) at QuiltCon 2025. We think that Ann did the right thing by entering her quilt in the Small Quilts category, because not only is her quilt just 15" x 15", it features many, many tiny pieces as well. How many you ask? Oh, how about 900! She says of her quilt, "An exploration of tiny log cabins and finding balance with contrasting color values. Each log cabin is made with 25 pieces of fabric. Quilt top consists of 900 pieces of fabric. Foundation paper pieced and quilted by machine."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Taking A Little Peek

"Peeper" by Phyllis Cullen

Peeper features Phyllis' granddaughter as she's peeking out the window. In addition to wanting to make a big close-up portrait quilt, Phyllis also wanted to show people that when you use fabrics that range from very light to very dark, and you capture the light in the right way, you can create something that looks very alive.
