These wonderful tape measures are made of PLA - a fiber waste from fermented plant starch such as corn, beets, or sugar cane- and are 100% biodegradable. Don't worry about them biodegrading while you use them though- in a commercial composting facility PLA can be break down in 3 months, but in the rest of the world it takes 80 years.  

The high-quality metal tape inside measures both inches and cm/mm (78" / 2 m long), and has a metal tab on the end to keep it from retracting into the body of the tape measure.

Packaged in a reusable linen drawstring bag.
