Description:
Windmills by Mary Anne Fontana won Second Place - Small Wall Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted (Sponsored by INNOVA) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024. Mary's quilt draws inspiration from three windmills taken from her own photograph that are beautifully thread painted in a fantasy-like red, blue, and purple color scheme. Placed across a lush and free-motion quilted landscape of similar red, blue, and purple hues, these windmills stand as tall and strong focal points that immediately catch the viewer's eye and demands their attention.
