More About The Quilt from Telene Jeffrey:
- Inspired by The Red Dress and festival theme,"Voices in Cloth".
- Co-created this original design with the 5 South African National Emblems. I'm a 10th generation South African, Claire was born in the UK but South Africa is her home. That's why we chose the emblems of the country we live so dearly and calls 'home'.
- We each made our own quilt top using techniques and fabrics of our own choosing.
- We then quilted each other's quilt - again with a original design, all free motion quilted on our Handi Quilter Amara machines (hand-guided and rulerwork). I found inspiration for Claire's quilting in English Royal Garden layouts (since Claire is from the UK) and Claire found inspiration in African pattern and fabrics for my quilt.
- We each finished off our own quilt.
