It seemed like the eyes on this great big beautiful cat were watching you as you wandered around the floor of the Houston International Quilt Festival 2025.

 

Louann Jobe Fisher writes about her quilt, Those Mesmerizing Blue Eyes, quilted by Tony Jeter, "I fell in love with this guy the first time I saw him! Those gorgeous blue eyes! After a long search, I finally found the panels and began designing my version of him. A perfect subject for the One Block Wonder technique. It requires perfectly aligning six panels and cutting six 60-degree equilateral triangles, which are used to create hexagons. These hexagons go on to become the design surrounding the seventh panel, placed somewhere in the center of the quilt. Creating this design was fun."

Hi…I made this captivating quilt. I have to admit, he’s one of my very favorites of all of my collection. I just wanted to make a correction about the name of the artist who did the original artwork for this panel. There was a mistake on his name...

Hi…I made this captivating quilt. I have to admit, he’s one of my very favorites of all of my collection. I just wanted to make a correction about the name of the artist who did the original artwork for this panel. There was a mistake on his name in the original write-up and it was corrected later. His name is not Colli. His is Collin Bogle, an artist from the Seattle area. Thanks.
