Something that Kestrel is really pushing herself towards in her newer quilts is storytelling. So the story of The One That Got Away is that in her steampunk world, two guys thought that it would be a great idea to strap a steam-powered propeller-driven backpack onto their dog and turn him into a drone. Unfortunately though, one of them has dropped the leash while the dog is in the air. Therefore, the quilt depicts the exact moment that the leash gets dropped, hence The One That Got Away. Don't worry though, the dog lands okay.
