Description:
Artist Statement: "During 2019 I start seeing temperature quilts popping up on Instagram and decided to make my own. I live in a country with little variety in temperature, so I decided that 1 temperature = 1 color. I ended up using 38 different kona cottons colors as we had temperatures in Denmark in 2020 from -6 to +31 degrees Fahrenheit. Little did I know that this would also be my Corona project as we went into the first Lockdown mid-March. Checking the high and the low temperatures each day and sewing the blocks gave me something sane to do during some difficult months. I drew my own simple house block in EQ8. In order to make a clearer difference between cold and warm I chose the that first 6 months my houses were the coldest temp and the background the warmest and did the opposite the last 6 months."
