Song of the Sea

I love this quilt! I saw it at a quilt show some years back, and stood in front of it simply mesmerized. The beautiful design, the gorgeous colors, the charm of the octopus, the wonderful choice and use of fabrics...! It's a special challenge, too, to use printed fabrics in a quilt like this. So many quilters nowadays seem to rely on quilting painted images, rather than finding clever, innovative ways to manipulate prints. It's a delight to have this extra element of interest and beauty in this work, making the quilt as exciting to see close up as it is from afar.
