Description:
Pathfinder was Kyra's COVID quilt, taking three years from start to finish to complete. It features 3,133 appliquéd dots on the front with much more additional appliqué work done throughout the quilt. Then, according to Kyra, the back of the quilt has to look as good as the front, so the back features over 180 hours of free-motion quilting that she did on her Innova and countless thread colors to match. Kyra views the back as almost a whole cloth quilt, that allows you to see all the colors featured.
Artist Statement: "Every mandala is as unique as the person creating it. Pathfinder is made solely of hand turned edge applique then each piece is individually hand sewn on. I brought her to life with my free motion quilting. My Pathfinder quilt with all her colors and of course her dots just make me happy. In a world that isn’t always so colorful, I hope when you look at her you smile too!"
