Description:
Kirara's grandfather was a fisherman in Wakayama prefecture. When we went back to the village and got off the train, we smelled a salty sea breeze and saw crabs walking on the beach. Each year, there is a New Year's ceremony of hanging a big-catch flag on boats. The scene is so magnificent. I made this quilt to capture a happy memory between my daughter and her grandfather.
