Description:
Artist Statement: "My quilt is an innovative take on the traditional Hawaiian quilt using wholecloth fabrics. The appliqué is of a topiary garden in the center of a small town. There are hand quilted cobblestone paths between buildings and suburbs surrounding the town, followed by farmers' fields. You can find laundry hanging on the line and a graveyard with ghosts behind the church. The entire quilt is heavily embellished."
Techniques: Hand Quilting, Appliqué, Embellishment, and Embroidery
Materials: Cotton fabric, hand-tatted lace made by my great grandmother, DMC floss, Sew Sassy thread, Hobbs wool batting
