Artist Statement: "Harlequinade is a theatrical quilt filled with visual clues guiding viewers to discover the hidden story. Inspired by Venetian Carnival masks and commedia del'arte characters, the quilt features the antics of Harlequin, the trickster, who has his own ideas about freedom and fun!"

 

Techniques: Machine Pieced and Quilted; Hand Appliquéd; Painted; Trapuntoed; Penciled; Inked

Beautiful, fantastic, great, there are simply no words. At first it looked to me like a small mural, but this quilt has indeed considerable dimensions. The variety of details is simply remarkable and everything looks so realistic. You really have the feeling under the masks are human eyes.
Thank you also for the many detailed pictures on which you can look even better at the individual motifs.
Anyone who deals with such quilts can certainly estimate the work involved in creating such a work of art.
