Description:
A masterpiece from Takido Fusako, Crest of Tulip, was featured at the Houston International Quilt Festival in 2013 as part of the Handmade exhibition. It was awarded the Judge's Choice award by Sandra Leichner.
Artist Statement: "A spring flower, the tulip blooms proudly toward the sky. We can get energy from it as it flutters in the wind. I made the tulip like a crest in the oval using trapunto."
Techniques: Hand Appliqué, Piecing, Quilting, and Trapunto
