Description:
Artist Statement: “I have had the word ‘AlphabeTrees’ in my head for a while and always wanted to make a quilt featuring trees to use that word. The gold letters were free-motion embroidered, and the cream-colored backgrounds were appliquéd using a decorative stitch.”
If you can count on two things happening in the world, it's that the sun is going to rise each day and Janet Stone is probably going to win another award for one of her fabulous and fun alphabet quilts. And guess what? She's just done that yet again. This time her quilt, Butterflies, Bees & AlphabeTrees, won Best Stationary Machine Workmanship at AQS QuiltWeek 2023 in Branson, MO. Her quilt was also awarded Viewer's Choice at the 2022 QuiltFest in New England. Take a look and see where all those butterflies and bees fly amongst the AlphabeTrees in Janet's quilted world.
