Janet Stone's Alphabet Quilts are Coming to the National Quilt Museum in 2026

This past year Janet Stone finished the last quilt in a her Alphabet series, which has twenty-six quilts with each one corresponding to a letter of the alphabet, that she began in 2008. And guess what? Starting next year you'll be able to see all of them together for the first time at the National Quilt Museum as part of their new exhibit, Janet Stone: And Now I Know My ABCs. Click through to learn more about this exciting exhibit to come.

From the National Quilt Museum:

"Collection of Janet Stone’s award winning alphabet quilt series from 2008 – 2024. “I’ve always had a thing for the alphabet. I was a cross-stitcher for a long time and always made samplers. My mom was in the printing business, and she used to bring home type-face catalogs, and I was fascinated as a kid about how many ways one could design letters. I’ve been enamored with letters and type my whole life.”"

Janet Stone: And Now I Know My ABCs will be on display at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky from March 27, 2026 through September 22, 2026.

In the meantime, learn from Janet right here on The Quilt Show by watching her in Block of the Month Quilt 2014 A-Z for Ewe and Me! by Janet Stone.
