Featured Quilt - From The Bells of Notre Dame

There are works of art that will always inspire more great art. One such piece is the North Rose window at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. Michelle Bardwell was so taken with the piece that she decided to make her own version of it, and thus her quilt, Cathedral Rose, was born. Featured in the Pictorial category at Houston 2018, Michelle writes of her work, "This quilt is my interpretation of the awe-inspiring rose window at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Silk fabrics were used to help replicate the glow of stained glass. The original window was completed by the grandchildren of the original craftsmen. (Fortunately, my grandchildren are off the hook!)".

  • 1/4 yard of fabric (full width, not a fat quarter) for the inner border

"Curious Duck" by Ann P. Shaw

Ann writes about Curious Duck, "Curiosity is a trait we see among many members of the Animal Kingdom……and ducks are no exception. Drawn to the shiny and new, ducks will poke their bills in the darnedest places. This lime green, blue and orange duck couldn’t stay put, deciding to poke at the corner of my quilt."
